A planet in domicile is like a ruler in their own kingdom — fully resourced, operating in a familiar and comfortable environment, with all natural authority intact. The planet's qualities express most directly, clearly, and powerfully.

Moon in Cancer: The Moon's nurturing, emotional, instinctive nature finds perfect expression in Cancer — its natural home. Emotional sensitivity, intuition, and capacity for care operate fully and comfortably.

Saturn in Capricorn: Saturn's discipline, structure, and long-term ambition find natural expression in Capricorn. The planet's careful, achievement-oriented nature operates without the friction of incompatible sign qualities.

Domicile vs. Exaltation

Traditional scoring often gives domicile slightly more weight than exaltation for raw power, while exaltation produces more refined or elevated expression.

Mutual Reception

When two planets are each in the other's domicile sign — Mars in Taurus while Venus is in Aries, for example — they are in mutual reception: each hosting the other. This creates a powerful strengthening of both planets, as if they can exchange resources freely.
