Grand Trine in Astrology

A grand trine occurs when three planets are each approximately 120° apart from each other, forming a large equilateral triangle in the birth chart. All three planets occupy the same element — Fire, Earth, Air, or Water — creating a self-contained circuit of harmonious, flowing energy.

The Element of a Grand Trine

The element shared by all three planets determines the grand trine's character:
